I’m sitting here on the PC (when I should really be in bed!) when my 4 year old boy comes running in crying and in a state because he had a nightmare! I held him for a good 10 mins, reassuring him that everything was gonna be alright, that I love him, I’m here for him and that he is safe. He became peaceful and I lay him down on my bed. Then I just watched him as he fell back into a peaceful sleep. I held his hand. I thought to myself, I love him so much. There is nothing in this world that could make me Love him any less. He is my Son.

I was Overwhelmed. I was overcome competely in mind and feeling by God’s awesome Love! I was reminded that when I am afraid – his Love casts out all of my fear! God takes every opportunity to reassure us, tell us that He is there for us, that he loves us and that we are safe in Him. He is our safety, refuge, shelter and hiding place. He loves it when we run to Him for help. Check out this Psalm.

Psalm 121

¹ I lift up my eyes to the hills—
       where does my help come from?

 ² My help comes from the LORD,
       the Maker of heaven and earth.

 ³ He will not let your foot slip—
       he who watches over you will not slumber;

 ⁴ indeed, he who watches over Israel
       will neither slumber nor sleep.

 ⁵ The LORD watches over you—
       the LORD is your shade at your right hand;

 ⁶ the sun will not harm you by day,
       nor the moon by night.

 ⁷ The LORD will keep you from all harm—
       he will watch over your life;

When you are afraid and fear is gripping you, RUN to the Father! There is no better person to go to, or place to be, than in His presence!

Here is a video clip of my good friend Linette Penney singing a spontaneous song while leading worship at our home church – The Lighthouse Church in Troon. This was during our ‘House of Prayer’ meetings which we have on every Tuesday morning starting at 10.30am. We get people from all over Ayrshire and beyond, from many different churches – coming to Worship and Pray together.
